Geocache Description:

'Kossuth' Look-out Tower is on the midway between Dörgicse and Mencshely on Halom Hill which is a part of Mencshely as public administration.

The look-out tower is located about 900 metres from the surfaced road, on the dirt road you can get closer for a while but walking is prefered which is not too encumbing but there is a bit of level-difference (approximately 100 metres).
From the surfaced road between Mencshely and Dörgicse you have to go off at the plate of "Kiscsutorás Borozó' (Little Mouthpiece Pub) and you can park here, too: N 46°55.712', E 17°42.823'.
The way is easy from here: you have to walk uphill always.
Halom Hill is the tallest point of the neighborhood (399 m). In 1269 its name is already readable in a charter. From 'Kossuth' Look-out Tower - which was bulit in 1962 - to the Balaton Highland probably the utter view appears. This tower is named from Lajos Kossuth because in 1849 his wife and his children were hidden in Mencshely under the hill to North.
North from the look-out tower you can see the whole South-Bakony. To the left the Somló shows its hilltop with a look-out tower. To the right the hills of Szentgál appear, woody hilltops go up and the picture changeges to direction of Tihany Peninsula, Ku Valley, and the towers, houses of Dörgicse. Zánka, the hills of Szepezd (above them you can see Fonyód), Hegyestu, Badacsony, Tóti, Gulács, the castle-ruin of Szigliget, Ederics 'Dragonforest', Szentgyörgy Hill, Csobánc, Sátormál, Boncsos Hilltop, Szentjakabfa and above Óbudavár the Dabas-Agár Hilltop are appearent sequentially. Finally, after the long, flat top, the vista
ends with Somlo Hill.
The top of Halom Hill is basalt and formerly a mine was opened here. Pay attention for a mine-hole by the look-out tower! Accordingly, you must not go to the cache straight ahead because of the hole!
You have to go on a footpath untill about 70-80 steps.
