Geocache Description:

This is about a 30 minute stroll through this historic village. More if you want to linger, less if you rush.
Final cache can only be reached after 8am.
Enjoy this beautiful little village.
Judy Rawdon, and management are aware of the cache and enthusiastic about it.

PLEASE do not go to hotel reception as it is not there and they cannot help.

The given coordinates take you to a parking spot - Waypoint 1 - where you will begin your little tour.

Leave your car and head to Waypoint 2 on the station platform.
How many miles to Cape Town? Make this ABC.

(If you have the time you may want to browse through the Marie Rawdon Museum at the red and green carts and wagons. R10 entry fee per person into an honesty box.)

Now walk down the nearby stairs and head across the road toward Tweedside Lodge, the residence of the founder of Matjiesfontein, James Logan.
Turn right and then left down the driveway to Matjies Motel. All the way down and through the white arches to Waypoint 3.
Enter this little building, that has been in use for over a century, and count the windows. All of them! Make this number D.

Now cross the river and stroll on to Waypoint 4.
How many shiny handrails do you count to help you into the water? Jot this down as E.
Close by you will also see the village's first reservoir.

From here, cross the river again and walk along the river bank to the dirt road which will take you past more historic buildings to Waypoint 5.
At this relatively new addition to the village, count the number of all the glass panes at the entrance. This becomes F.

Now go and make yourself comfortable on the stoep of the Lord Milner Hotel and do your calculations for the final coords.

PLEASE NOTE: If you have a bit more time, 50 mins or so, and are interested in delving deeper into the village's very interesting history, please go to the Lord Milner reception and see about the Audio Tour. They provide free WiFi.
Have Fun!
