coordinates, you need to solve the following four easy tasks, which
will among other teach you how unhealthy the governmental
interventions are:
Task 1:
Demand for student dorms can be described as Q = 960 - 7P and
supply as Q = 160 + 3P, where Q is quantity and P is
price.
The government set the minimum price of the dorms at 35 CZK per
day. Find out, how much does the supply exceed the demand and label
the given number A.
Task 2:
Demand for labor can be described as L = - 50 W + 4500 and supply
as L = 100 W, where L is the number of workers and W is the real
hourly wage.
Assume that the government set the minimum wage at 40 CZK per hour.
What unemployment will arise as a consequence of this decision?
Assume unemployement as the count of unemployed people and label it

Task 3:
Assume gold and silver are substitutes, because both metals provide
protection against inflation. Also assume that in short term the
supply of both metals is fixed at Qz = 50 a Qs = 200 and the demand
is described as Pz = 850 - Qz + 0,5Ps and Ps = 540 - Qs + 0,2
Pz.
What is the equilibrium price of gold? Round this number to the
whole digits and label it C.
Task 4:
Demand for electricity can be described as P = 200 - 2Q and supply
as P = 2Q. Given the existence of negative externalities, the
government decided to collect special fees in the level of 2 CZK
per one unit. Find out how does this change the consumed
amount.
Label the absolute value of the difference in electricity
consumption D.
