Geocache Description:

Cache is situated near Kings Tor Halt. Nice easy walk out from Princetown or alternatively from the end of Yellowmead Farm track.

The Plymouth and Dartmoor railway opened in 1823, but did not get as far as Princetown until 1826. The terminus at this point was behind what is now The Railway Inn. It was built principally to serve the nearby granite quarries. The stretch between Princetown and Yelverton later became a branch line of the GWR, and ran until 1956.
