Pleasant, easy to follow trail heading along a draw between the rock formations. Cache is about 100 feet off the trail and has scenic views of the geology of the area.
Rather than go back up "Bun Burner Hill" (my name for it) like we did the day before after visiting caches along the stream in the canyon, we found this alternate way back to our vehicle. It takes you along a draw with scenic views of the many interesting rock formations, with shallow caves and cubby holes all along the way. It looks like a seasonal creek runs through the area with a few tiny pools here and there and a small cascade. Though longer than going along the ridge back to the parking lot, the elevation gain is more gradual except for the last little bit. You'll have to back track along the road to get back to the large parking area. We spotted rabbits and a hawk along the way. It was very peaceful out on this trail and there is plenty of room for more caches. We have now left our mark in Vasquez! Enjoy! -- Yosemite Debbie
