Located on the Olin Richardson Tract, this cache is a well camoed,
large pill container. It is big enough for pins and tiny stuff but
nothing big. BYOP (Bring Your Own Pencil or Pen!!!!) The views -
depending on the time of year and weather - can be outstanding. The
cache hide should be easy - it is high and winter accessible (short
children will need parent's help) and the terrain rating (which may
be high) is based upon the slope which is a rolling field and may
not be mowed in the later summer.
This location is very child friendly. It is part of Orrington
public lands with an informational plaque, trail map, picnic table,
benches, large rolling fields, apple and other trees, flora, fauna,
animals, trails and great views depending upon the weather. Bring a
picnic, the family and enjoy a day and find a cache. During bug
season this may not be your favorite place - please plan
accordingly.
A word about hunting season and the winter - the side of the
road the cache is located on is open to hunting - the other side is
a game preserve. Be mindful of this if seeking the cache "in
season". Also, the snow may be very deep in the winter and a
snowmobile trail is nearly - be cautious to cover your tracks if
seeking during this time.
Lastly - this container is larger pill bottle, well camoed. It
has been covered with natures camo too - please replace as found or
better.
The Town of Orrington welcomes cachers to their public lands and
hopes you enjoy your visit to our Town. We have a Dunkin' Donut in
town and I believe there is WiFi. Bring your laptop and log your
Orrington finds right here in town!
