Geocache Description:

Puddletown Forest lies in the heart of Hardy country, SW of the village he called Weatherbury. Recommended parking for Maisie's three madcaches is on Rhododendron Mile, close to where it crosses the old Roman Road from Badbury Rings to Dorchester.

The caches are linked by enjoyable path walks, energetic but peaceful. The optimum circular route to collect all three and return is about 3.4km (2.1 miles). ‘Far From The Madding Crowd’, a virtual cache set by Element14, could be combined with them for an extended walk. The paths are OK for terrain buggies but with some steep bits & muddy spots difficult for traditional pushchairs.

GPS reception near this cache is variable – please use the clue if stumped. The container is well hidden, blending perfectly into its mossy surroundings. Please replace the cover carefully! To complete the circular walk (and go the most direct route back) take the path ESE downhill.

Final co-ordinates of all three forest caches are given in a mastercache. For the location of the mastercache, see Maisie's Madcache 1 'Sergeant Troy'.
