Captain Flint’s Treasure (a.k.a. Dead Man's Chest)

Henry Rogers better known as the infamous Captain Flint plundered more than 50 ships during his pirating days.

One of them was the GeoStar, a 100-foot three-masted galley packed with ivory, indigo, and thousands of silver and gold coins.Flint’s crew captured the ship and headed home after their victory. On the way, the ship entered foul weather. 70 mph gales and 40 foot tall waves capsized the top-heavy GeoStar, killing all aboard. The loot was never found—that is until some of the coins turned up in a local Geocache named “Dead Man’s Chest.” No one knows how the coins got there, but the unusual piratical activities did draw the attention of local muggles. Bottom line, “Dead Man’s Chest" was archived.

I’m happy to report however, after much persistence that a new home has been found for this popular cache and the geo-saga can now; therefore, continue.

If ye be ready for a new adventure, come aboard and join the other mateys. We’re headed fer a new port o' call a magical land of bountiful geo-enjoyment and new secret hiding place for Captain Flint’s Pirate Treasure.

Once you dock, ye'll be on your own matey. Watch out for pirates, privateers and scurvy dogs. They be heavily armed, ye needn't be afeared, they won't make ye walk the plank, and their squawkin' parrots won't bite ye if'n ya gives 'em a cracker. Arrrr.

Strike out toward the setting sun. Don’t be confused by mythical mermaids or giant sea creatures, just follow your geo readings. That’s were ye will find the map revealing the way to Captain Flint’s hidden pirate treasure.
