Cache is near a hunters' lurking-place by a tree with three trunks.
According to a myth there is a meteorite crater here. Please help
us confirm or "bust" this myth. We came to know from this place
from an article in "Élet és Tudomány" (Life and Science) Hungarian
magazine (2006 44th edition), that 4 km south of Veszprém city and
2 kms from Szentkirályszabadja author of the article (Dr. Lajos
Négyesi) has discovered an object that seems a meteorite crater. He
has made this discovery during browsing the satellite images of the
well-known GoogleEarth.
It was my grandfather - Hauser József -, who has called our
attention to this article. On the same day we went out and have
inspected this place.
One can really see a huge depression about 800 meters across, and
has a depth of approx 25 meters. People tend to think about such
cosmic interesting thins at a place like this. Let's play, that we
are Jamie and Adam from Mythbusters (Discovery Channel). Let's bust
on confirm, that this is a meteorite crater.
We kindly ask you to help us in this task. If you go out to seek
this cache, please collect proof, if the object, that is really
there is really a meteorite crater?
Please publish your findings in your logs on this website, and
please upload photos.

to reach the edge of the crater and to get near the cache.

[GCMKRA+parkoló]
The eastern edge of the crater can be reached from road no 73. Turn
off this road at N 47° 3,5760' E 17° 55,5480' 307 m
[GCMKRA+Ny-letérés] to reach a good lookout place at N 47° 3,6050'
E 17° 55,8940' 296 m [GCMKRA+Kilátás]. You will see a nice view of
the inner part of the crater here.
Wildlife: We have found numerous signs of rich wildlife.
There are several hunters' lurking-towers, and a feeding place for
the wild animals. We have seen footprints of deers, roes. We've
seen a large predator bird pair also. We kindly ask everyone to
take care during their visit not to disturb the life of wild
animals. Also we need to care for the interests of the hunters and
the agriculture (e.g.: please do not step on the cropland.
Hunting: We kindly call the attention of our cacher fellows,
that there may be hunting actions around this place. So if you hear
or see hunters around, its better to keep out (!!) and seek this
cache at a later time. Nighttime is even more dangerous! We do NOT
recommend seeking at night!
We wish you a good investigation!
