Number 3 in the Bottom Series. Cache is a lock & lock box located close to Stoney Stratton on the footpath to Chesterblade.
Nice easy walk but will be wet in places except in times of severe drought! The stream needs fording in a couple of places - so wellies or bare feet. (This is fun!) We parked at Chesterblade, on the grass verge, just through a gateway to a farm. (Friendly farmer, just leave plenty of room for farm traffic). The footpath carries on through the farmyard to Stoney Stratton. VERY muddy etc in places, but kids will love the cows, ducks & sheep. Alternatively, for those with a less adventurous spirit or who want to keep clean feet, there is parking at Stoney Stratton. Please don't try to park in Back Lane - it's too narrow, High Street is safer and adds just a few hundred yards to the walk. This is a shorter walk to the cache. Wherever you park the stream will need fording, but it is very shallow. The walk from Chesterblade is 3/4 mile, from Stoney Stratton 1/4 mile.
