This cache is located in the yard of an old ceramic factory, which
now serves as an office building called Old Mill.

Kätkö sijaitsee vanhan posliinitehtaan pihalla. Rakennus toimii
nykyisin toimistorakennuksena nimeltä Old Mill.
Additional notes:
During office hours, you can get very close to the cache by car.
Other times you'll have to walk pass the gate, which is perfectly
ok. So, you don't have to feel like trespassing or something.

History of Old
Mill
Turun Posliinitehdas was built during 1918 to 1919. The main
products manufactured in the factory were electronic ceramic
devices such as fuses and lightings. The factory was owned by three
men of whom a gentleman Henning von Rettig was the most well known.
However, the original wooden factory was destroyed in a fire in
1920. Construction work for a new factory built from fireproof
brick was started immediately. Fritiof Strandell, a leading jugend
style architect in Turku at the turn of the century, was chosen as
the architect for the factory. Since then the factory has seen a
number of renovations and extensions as it has adjusted during the
years to the changing needs of its users. A low ceiling extension
was added to the building in the 1950s when the first tunnel
furnace was installed into the building.

Millin historia
Turun Posliinitehdas, nykyinen Old Mill rakennettiin vuosien 1918 -
1919 aikana. Tehtaassa valmistettiin pääasiassa sähkökeramiikkaa,
kuten puhelin- ja suurjännite-eristimiä. Tehtaan omistajakolmikosta
tunnetuin oli turkulaisvaikuttaja Henning von Rettig.
Puurakenteinen tehdas kuitenkin paloi jo v. 1920. Saman tien
alettiin rakentaa uutta ehompaa tehdasrakennusta, joka muurattiin
tulenkestävästä tiilestä. Arkkitehdiksi valittiin Fritiof
Strandell, joka oli vuosisadan vaihteen johtava turkulainen
jugendarkkitehti. Rakennusta on laajennettu ja muutettu koko sen
käytön ajan prosessin ja työympäristön muutosvaatimusten mukaan.
Matala lisäosa on rakennettu 1950-luvulla, kun tehtaassa otettiin
käyttöön ensimmäinen tunneliuuni.
