Myrtle the Apprentice has perfected her vanishing spell so there
is no letterbox stamp. She left behind a magic box containing:
magic orb of destiny keyring, Narnia pen, garden gnome, bag of
jewels and who knows whatelse
Originally I placed this cache further in the forest after
unsuccessfully seeking the
Wizard's Walk
It was scrobbled and has been resited. The GPS coordinates will
bring you to the start of the Myrtle walk, take a left turn at
bridge and head downstream. NO BUSH BASHING NEEDED.
Cache is on the left of the track after about 35 m behind a tall,
distinctive twin trunked Myrtle tree only about 0.5 m from the
trail, directly beside a small right hand bend in the track. One of
the trunks is 3.5m high and dead. Opposite is a fantastically moss
decorated spiral stump about 2.5 high It is between the large roots
- you do not have to dig for it! It is weighted down with stone and
hidden under a very large bit of moss covered bark.
Tread lightly and look for small sharp white rocks beside the trail
on the left. I left them in a rough line pointing to the tree.
Track notes:
Trout fisher muggles spotted here. I went for a swim when placing
cache in Jan. The river was slow and low. The canopy is much more
open than when I placed it at the start of the year and may have
contributed to the loss of the cache. There are lovely views of the
river now and very easy access to the clear freezingly cold
water.
