GPS Dash for the Geocache Race Event Cache

On February 15th we will be holding a geocaching event between 9 - 2pm in recognition of the Global Positioning System (GPS). As you may very well know, GPS has become a system for humanity. It is a free signal, is available all over the world, and is very accurate. It is used not only by the military, and not just for navigation. The public also uses it to enhance productivity, to increase safety, and just to have fun.

For this special event on February 15th, there will be 5 to 7 caches hidden around Colorado Springs. To add to the thrill of this event, we will have some prizes to those who reach geocache site first, as well as an over-all prize for those who visit all the caches first, and turn in their card before the time allotted.

There is no need to participate in the race in order to log your attendance at this event cache. You can show up between 9 - 2pm to meet, greet, socialize, or participate in the activity.

Event registration starts at Pavilion B at Memorial event (located near 331 South Hancock Avenue in Colorado Springs), where from 9:00-9:55 am waivers are signed (for those participating in the activity). At 10:00, the geocache locations printed on a card will be given out, and the dash begins. Participants will head out in their vehicles to locate the caches. We’ll have people at the caches, who’ll stamp the participant’s cards verifying they have reached the location. Cards must be turned in before 2:00 at Pavilion B at Memorial Park. The one with the most stamps in the least amount of time is the winner.
