Kino Kosmos otevreno – To co nemá ani Praha – Na svete jen v Trinci a Kuvajtu – 574 míst ceká návštevníky – Klimatizace jako pro tropy
Temito a dalšími titulky oznamoval v roce 1968 regionální i celostátní tisk, že v nedeli 25. února 1968 bylo v Trinci otevreno jedno z nejmodernejších kin na našem území.
Unikátní budovu kina postavily za 6,5 miliónu korun Pozemní stavby Ostrava podle vítezného projektu Ing. Baruty a Ing. Daricha z Bratislavy. Tehdejší tvurce trineckého sídlište Terasa, architekt František Krelina, ji vhodne umístil do volného prostoru mezi novou Terasu a starší sídlište v dolní cásti Lyžbic.
Kinosál s pudorysem sférického trojúhelníku byl vybaven sklopnými sedadly pro 574 diváku. Každý z nich dobre videl a slyšel, protože rady mely vysoké prevýšení. Kino bylo vybaveno v té dobe nejmodernejším zvukovým stereo zarízením. Automatická klimatizace se soucasným vlhcením vzduchu zajištovala i v preplneném sále príjemnou atmosféru.
Od prvního promítaného filmu, kterým byla Bondarcukova filmová epopej Vojna a mír, zde diváci shlédli tisíce filmu z celého sveta.
Díky prozíravé modernizaci, kdy vedle úpravy interiéru kinosálu bylo zavedeno ozvucení systémem Dolby Digital vcetne Dolby digitální projekce 3-D, patrí i dnes mestské kino Kosmos mezi významná ceská premiérová kina.

These and similar headlines in regional and national press announced that on Sunday 25 February 1968 the most modern cinema in the country was opened in Trinec. A unique construction designed by Ing. Barut and Ing. Daricha from Bratislava was built for 6.5 million CZK by Pozemni Stavby Ostrava. A former architect of the district Terasa - Frantisek Krelina - decided to situate the cinema in a vacant area between a new estate housing of Terasa and an old settlement at the lower part of Lyzbice.
The cinema of a spherical triangle layout was equipped with 574 folding seats placed on a sloping auditorium floor to ensure an optimal view for everyone in the hall and a state-of-the-art audio system. Automatic air-conditioning with humidity control provided comfortable climate even in an overcrowded cinema. Since the very first movie - Bondarchuk's War and Peace - thousands of movies from around the world were projected till today. Thanks to recent modernization of the interior and an upgrade of the sound system (Dolby Digital Dolby Digital 3-D), it still belongs to one of the leading Czech cinemas.

Pri nedávné procházce kolem kina Kosmos jsem našel ve spáre mezi dlaždicemi pod promítací kabinou kousek starého filmu. Po jeho ocištení jsem ke svému prekvapení zjistil, že se jedná o fragment úvodní cásti filmového pásu premiérového filmu Vojna a mír z roku 1968.
[EN:] During my recent walks around the cinema I found an old piece of film footage in tile joints beneath the projection booth. Right after I cleaned it up I recognized a fragment of the premiere movie footage - War and Peace from 1968.
Byl už znacne poškrábaný, avšak pri jeho dukladné prohlídce jsem na rubové strane pod svetlem UV lampy uvidel zretelné znaky.

Napred jsem si myslel, že to je synchronizacní pás filmu nebo speciální prolínací znacky umožnující plynulé navazování deje jednotlivých dílu pri promítání na dvou promítacích strojích. Neco mi však na tom nehrálo. Ofotil jsem tedy kousek filmu a poslal ho bývalému spolužákovi, který se zabývá kryptografií a je externím dopisovatelem „Crypto-World“.
Za pár dní mi prišla e-mailem zpráva: „Jsou to jasné souradnice ve tvaru DD MM.mmm. Rubovou stranu cti shora dolu. Na mape jsem to overil, hledej. Jaryn“
Tož jsem vyluštil, hledal a našel. Co? Uvidíte sami. Musela to tady kdysi povesit roztržitá uvadecka.
[EN:] At first, I thought it is a synchronizing part of the footage or special signs for seamless blending of footages while using two independent projectors. But I felt something was wrong.... Therefore, I sent a copy of the footage to my former classmate specializing in cryptography and a correspondent of Crypto-World magazine. Few days later an e-mail arrived: "It's clear these are coordinates in the format of DD MM.mmm. Read the reverse side from the top to bottom. I cross-checked it on the map - just search for it. Jaryn ".
I solved the puzzle, searched and found it. What? See for yourself. I am sure an absent minded usherette once left it there.
