Brann Stadion Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

cervisvenator: Hi

While I feel that Geocaching.com should hold the location for the cache owner and block other cachers from placing a cache in the area around this cache for a reasonable amount of time, we can’t do so forever.

Nothing seems to happen with this cache listing, so it is now archived, so that someone else can place a cache in the area, and geocachers can once again enjoy visiting this location. Also, if it hasn’t been done already, please pick up any remaining cache bits as soon as possible.

If the owner wants it reopened, send me an e-mail and I’ll be happy to unarchive the cache listing if it still satisfies the requirement/guidelines.

(This reviewer note is in English so non-Norwegian cache owners, geocachers and cache reviewers can understand what it says.)

Thanks for your understanding,
Cervis Venator

Geocache Description:

English: Brann Stadion SK Branns homestadium. It is located at Nymark Årstad in the district south of Bergen.Inaugurated already in 1919, the Brann Stadium is one of the oldest and most venerable football fields.

Brann Stadion

Brann Stadion, is owned by the club. It was built in 1919, but has since been modernized several times. A new stand was erected in 2006 and opened in May 2007. The new main stand was finished only days before the opening of the 2007 season. Brann Stadion has hosted 17 Norwegian international fixtures since 1933, the first against Wales in a 2-1 defeat. Since then Norway has not lost in Bergen, and has won twelve of the seventeen international fixtures at Brann Stadion. The current capacity is 17 800, with 17 000 seats, which leaves the capacity for European football at 17 000. Plans are made to further modernize the stadium as well as increase the capacity within the near future. The record attendance was in 1961, when 24 800 watched Brann beat Fredrikstad 4-1. The pitch measures 105 x 68, and is surrounded by four covered stands.
