Come along and join us for the A-Mad-Mazing Race. All racers will begin at the same point - Thompson's Beach - Victoria Point - the coords are given above. All participants will be issued with their instructions and will all leave at 9.a.m. All teams must conclude racing by stepping back onto the finish mat by 12.30 p.m. This is the only element of elimination in this race - you have to have your whole team step back onto the mat at the pit stop by 12.30 p.m. Otherwise your team will not have your points tallied and you will be eliminated. We do have to have lunch at some stage!!
We have set this race up so that you can complete as many tasks as you wish - in any order that you wish. You will require a vehicle as your race will take you all over the bright and sun shiney Redlands in your pursuit of clue boxes.
You will encounter Road Bumps and Deviations as you travel along. Some Road Bumps tasks can earn your more points than others - but the choice is yours entirely. The winners of the race will be decided upon by points - which the umpires - the MadMyers will calculate upon completion of the race.
You can team up with other cachers - but there is a limit of 4 cachers per team. We would point out that ALL cachers must complete each task they are claiming. No - you cannot split up - a team is a team and they stay together - we believe in fair play at all times!!! The only exception to the 4 per team is if a family has more than 2 children - obviously Mum and Dad and the geokids are considered a team. But the age of the children must be under 15. Yes there can be less than 4 in a team - 1 person can be a team by themselves if they wish.
There will be prizes awarded at the end of the race. Our plan is for you to all be back by 12.30 - so that we can then all catch up with each other. There is a BBQ at the site - so you can bring sausages etc or whatever you wish for your lunch. BYO chairs - there is some shade but we are also trying to get a few shade structures to also put up. The Mads are planning on getting there quite early to nab the tables, BBQ etc if we can - so you can arrive earlier than 9 a.m. if you wish.
Our aim is for this to be a fun day out - yes there is a level of competition but only as we love a certain show and this concept. You can honestly just come along and complete 3 tasks if you wish - how fast you race depends on how competitive you want to be.
We would like you to log that you want to attend please just so we can plan how many envelopes etc we will need at each clue box.
