Diese Informationstafel ist Bestandteil des Wegs der Artenvielfalt an der Bonner Waldau. Hier geht es um die sogenannten Kopfbuchen, auch Gespensterbuchen genannt. Das sind alte, speziell beschnittene Buchen, die aufgrund ihrer Äste ein bizarres und gruseliges Aussehen haben. Auf der Tafel wird Besuchern und insbesondere Kindern die Entstehung der Bäume ebenso wie die Bedeutung für die lokale Fauna wie z.B. Waldkauze und Fledermäuse erklärt.
This information sign is part of the "Weg der Artenvielfalt" (Trail of Biodiversity) at the Waldau of Bonn. This one is about the so-called "Kopfbuchen" (i.e. head beech trees), also called ghost beaches. These are old, specially trimmed beeches, which have a bizarre and creepy appearance due to their branches. On the sign, the origin of these trees as well as the importance for the local fauna, e.g. for forest owls and bats, are explained to visitors and especially kids.
