Der Bonner "Weg der Artenvielfalt" ist ein Waldlehrpfad für Kinder. Ziel ist es, den Kindern auf spannende und spieleriche Art den Wald und seine Bewohner näherzubringen.

Er ist als Rundweg angelegt und beginnt an der Waldau, einem besonders bei Kindern beliebten Ausflugsziel am Rande des Kottenforsts. Am Startportal hängt eine Übersichtskarte (s. Bildergalerie) und es liegen Flyer mit Informationen und Karte aus. Sollten die Flyer mal vergriffen sein, können sie auch hier downgeloaded werden. Aber der Weg ist auch gut ausgeschildert.

Von da aus geht es dann 2,3 Kilometer durch den Kottenforst sowie am Annaberger Feld und an den Wildgehegen der Stadt Bonn vorbei. Unterwegs erklärt die bekannte Kinderbuchfigur "Hase Felix" auf 15 Informationstafeln kindgerecht was es alles Spannendes im Wald zu sehen gibt. Außerdem können die Kinder (und natürlich auch die Eltern) an 9 Erlebnisstationen aktiv werden und den Wald hautnah erleben. So gibt es u.a. einen Laubtunnel, der durchquert werden muss, oder einen Barfußpfad, auf dem mit den Füßen die verschiedenen Untergründe des Waldes ertastet werden können. An mehreren Aussichtspunkten können unterwegs Hirsche (Damwild und Rotwild), Wildschweine, Vögel und Fledermäuse beobachtet und z.T. auch gefüttert werden.

Der Weg ist ein Gemeinschaftsprojekt der Stadt Bonn und des Naturschutzbundes "NABU", wurde im Mai 2008 eröffnet und anschließend erweitert und ausgebaut. 2009/2010 wurde er von der UNESCO im Rahmen der UN-Dekade "Bildung für nachhaltige Entwicklung" ausgezeichnet und als Projekt gefördert.

"Weg der Artenvielfalt" (i.e. trail of biodiversity) is a nature trail for kids in the forest of Bonn. It aims to give children an understanding of the forest and it's inhabitants.

It is designed as loop course and starts at the Waldau, a local recreation area at the edge of the forest Kottenforst, especially popular with kids. There's a map (see picture gallery) and brochures are available at the starting portal. If the brochures are out of stock, the brochure can also be downloaded here. But the trail is marked well, too.

From there, the trail leads over 2.3 kilometers through the Kottenforst and along the field Annaberger Feld and the game reserves of the city of Bonn. The children's book figure "Hase Felix" (a bunny) explains on the way on 15 information signs in child-friendly language and images what they are supposed to see. In addition, at 9 activity stations the kids (and of course also the parents) can spring into action. There is e.g. a foliage tunnel that has to be traversed and a barefoot path, at which you can feel the different surfaces of the wood with your feet. At several lookout points you can observe deer (fallow and red deer), boar, birds, and bats and even feed some of them.

The trail is a shared project of the city of Bonn and the nature preserve organization NABU. It was built in May 2008 and extended afterwards. In 2009/2010 it was awarded by the UNSCO for education and sustainable development and funded as a project.
