Blanca Vista Park is one of the newest and largest city parks in Alamosa. Created in 2011 out of the Alamosa Ranch & Open Space, it encompasses 52 acres along the Rio Grande River. The park was named after the view of Mount Blanca in the distance and also acknowledges the neighboring towns of Blanca and Monte Vista.

The park contains a wildlife viewing area, two ADA accessible picnic shelters, parking for around 10 vehicles and access to local trails. A stone memorial plaque commemorates the efforts of former city manager Michael Hackett and others responsible for the acquisition of the property and protection as an open space park. The full text of the marker is transcribed below:
In 1997, the City of Alamosa City Council and Manager Michael Hackett, purchased the property before you. This purchase protected water rights for the city's future as well as open space. The pond area serves as a nature viewing area and passive recreation area. This plaque is placed to honor those community leaders and others whose vision and forward thinking saved this location for the use and enjoyment of the public for generations to come.
