Continental Divide National Scenic Trail
The 3,100-mile Continental Divide National Scenic Trail will take you from Mexico to Canada. Designated by congress in 1978, the trail passes through five states, twenty-five National Forests, three National Parks, and 475 watersheds.
From Spring Creek Pass, Canada is 2,250 miles to the north and Mexico is 850 miles to the south.

The Colorado Trail
Built mostly by volunteer workers, The Colorado Trail meanders through some of the most beautiful terrain in the state. Novice and expert hikers can enjoy short hikes or a summer adventure on the 470-mile trip from Waterton Canyon (southwest of Denver near Chatfield Reservoir) to Durango. The Colorado Trail passes through seven National Forests, six Wilderness areas, and five major river systems.

Excerpts from the Silver Thread Byway interpretive sign.
These two scenic trails pass along the same point over Spring Creek Pass located on the Continental Divide. Water that falls to the north and west of the pass drain into the Colorado River to the Pacific Ocean while waters on the south and east flow into the Rio Grande to the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic Ocean. Spring Creek Pass is located at an elevation of 10,898 feet above sea level.
