Dedicated in 1980 in memory of eight servicemen killed in Iran, the "Memorial Arch to Our Nation's Dead" stands guard at the entrance to Colorado's oldest veteran's cemetery. Established as part of the Colorado Soldiers' and Sailors' Home in 1891, the cemetery has interred veterans from the Civil War through the Iraq War. Few empty sites remain out of the 5,000 originally laid out.
