The Colorado State Veterans Center (formerly Sailors' and Soldiers' Home) hospital was constructed in 1928 to replace the original 1891 hospital (no longer in existence). The building continued that use until 1950 when it became a nursing home. Doctors and nurses had rooms above the hospital as seen by the small windows on the roof.

The structure now serves as the administration building for the Colorado State Veterans Center.
