On September 12, 2005 Michael D. Eisner dedicated the theme park by saying,"To all who come to this happy place, welcome. Many years ago, Walt Disney introduced the world to enchanted realms of fantasy and adventure, yesterday and tomorrow, in a magical place called Disneyland. Today that spirit of imagination and discovery comes to life in Hong Kong. Hong Kong Disneyland is dedicated to the young and the young at heart - with the hope that it will be a source of joy and inspiration, and an enduring symbol of the cooperation, friendship and understanding between the people of Hong Kong and the United States of America."

Hong Kong Disneyland is made up of four themed lands. The closest themed land to the entrance is Main Street USA. Main Street is themed around an antique American street. Here guests can eat, shop, ride old vehicles, take a train to Fantasyland, see the Art of Animation exhibit, and practice drawing Disney characters at the Animation Academy. Adventureland is a jungle themed land where guest can board the world famous Jungle River Cruise to explore the rivers of the jungle, take a raft to Tarzan's treehouse, or see the story of Simba's life acted out in the Festival of the Lion King. Fantisyland is a themed land where fairytales come to life. Here in the shadow of Sleeping Beauty Castle, amusement park guests can board a honey pot to ride through the world of Winnie the Pooh, see the 4D movie Philharmagic, take a boat ride around the world in It's a Small World, fly on the back of Dumbo the Elephant, take a spin in the Mad Hatter's Spinning Teacups, ride the Cinderella Carousel, and see the Golden Mickeys musical stage show. The next land, Tomorrowland is the futuristic home of Space Mountain. This is a thrilling dark, indoor, roller coaster ride themed around space travel. Also in Tomorrowland, guests can ride the UFO zone, drive a small car on the Autopia, test their lazer blaster shooting skills in Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters, and meet the friendly alien Stitch in the Stitch Encounter.

The theme park is considerably smaller than other Disney themeparks located in the United States like WM3T Disneyland California

Hong Kong Disneyland is located on Lantau island. It has a dedicated MTR station WM8VFZ Disneyland Resort Station and a dedicated MTR line for easy public transportation access.

Hong Kong dollars and Chinese Renminbi are accepted in the theme park. There are currency conversion services available at Guest Services nearby the park entrance or City Hall.
