Die Stadthalle wurde 1955 im Kurpark der damals eigenständigen Stadt Bad Godesberg errichtet, später wurde Godesberg zu Bonn eingemeindet. Sie wird bis heute regelmäßig als Kongresszentrum und Ausstellungshalle, für Messen und Karnevalssitzungen sowie für politische und gesellschaftliche Veranstaltungen genutzt. Zwei Sääle, mehrere Konferenzräume und ein großes Foyer können für diese Zwecke genutzt werden. Außerdem ist ein Restaurant in dem Gebäudekomplex angesiedelt.

Seit 1994 ist die Stadthalle mit einer eigenen U-Bahn-Station verbunden. Seit 2012 steht sie unter Denkmalschutz.

The Stadthalle (i.e. "city hall") was built in 1955 in the garden Kurpark of the then independent city of Bad Godesberg, later Godesberg was incorporated into Bonn. It is still used regularly as a congress and convention center, exhibition hall, for trade fairs and carnival meetings as well as for political and social events. Two halls, several conference rooms and a large foyer can be used for this purpose. There is also a restaurant in the building complex.

The convention center has been connected to its own underground station in 1994. It has been a listed building since 2012.
