Southside Gang Challenge...

eine tolle alte Coin, die nun - nachdem ich sie vom Team Bear-Cat in der Holiday Mission 2020 aus den USA geschickt bekommen habe - in meine Sammlung einziehen kann! Eine 2007 aktivierte Coin die bis zu meinem Grab-Log keinerlei weitere Einträge hatte! Hier noch ein wenig Geschichte und Hintergrundinformation zu dieser Coin (bei Compubaer entdeckt und geklaut):

Hinter dem Nick "The Southside Gang" verbirgt sich eine Gruppe von Geocachern aus Georgia, die Spaß am Cachen haben und ab Januar 2005 unter diesem Nick einige Caches versteckten, Events gestalteten und Events loggten, wenn alle Mitglieder daran teilnahmen. Der Volunteer LZ33, seit November 2001 Geocacher, gestaltete die Front dieser Geocoin zusammen mit CoinsAndPins. Die andere Seite fertigte ein Freund von LZ33. Am 14. März 2006 stellte er sie im Geocaching-Forum vor, doch schon Anfang März war die erste dieser Coins aktiviert worden. Entworfen wurde sie für das am 26. März 2006 stattgefundene Event "Southside Gang Challenge". Übrigens ist die Southside Gang auch heute noch aktiv und hier folgt noch die Erklärung, was der Name bedeutet: "Southside" bezieht sich auf die Südseite von Atlanta, Georgia. In Atlanta, der Hauptstadt des Bundesstaates Georgia, gab es zu Beginn des Geocachings die meisten Cacher und "Gang" ist in diesem Falle die Abkürzung für Geocachers Around North Georgia.

Behind the nick "The Southside Gang" is a group of geocachers from Georgia who enjoy caching and from January 2005 hid some caches under this nick, created events and logged events if all members took part. The volunteer LZ33, Geocacher since November 2001, designed the front of this geocoin together with CoinsAndPins. The other side was made by a friend of LZ33. On March 14, 2006, he presented them in the geocaching forum, but the first of these coins had already been activated at the beginning of March. It was designed for the "Southside Gang Challenge" event that took place on March 26, 2006. By the way, the Southside Gang is still active today and here is an explanation of what the name means: "Southside" refers to the south side of Atlanta, Georgia.
