Yep, I created this geocoin and had it in my possession before it was activated.
The artwork (of the cowboys branding the ammo can) was done by an artist who is a friend of mine. The other side of the coin was artwork created by me and the mint.
Back in the time period when this geocoin was minted, there was a transition taking place with geocoins.
People had geocoins minted and where mostly sequentially numbered & and not trackable on GC.com.
Then, people started to get them trackable on GC.com. They still only made a small amount to trade with or leave in geocaches as a signature item. Often they would sell a few online to cover their cost for minting and trackable code costs. These tracking codes were assigned to the default icon - 'Personal Geocoin'. (travelbug in a circle)
During this time frame, groups where making state, event, club ETC geocoins and selling them for profit, so this provided them the money needed to purchased the minimum order amount for codes to get a custom icon.
In the beginning to have an custom icon you had to purchase 1000 codes. When this geocoin was minted, I only needed to buy 500 codes.
So during this time when geocoins were evolving from being sequentially numbered over to being trackable on GC.com, I had both sequential numbering and tracking codes put on the geocoins.
I sold a lot of coins at the southside gang challenge event. The remaining LE's were sold to parentsofsam and the rest of the regulars were sold to a coin broker on the West coast of the USA to sell in his online store.
This year (2020), I took the cowboy art work side, bought 50 more tracking codes and made acrylic tokens for the new members of the Southside Gang geocaching club. So these trackables will have the same icon as the original antique gold (regular) and silver (LE) metal geocoins.
