Phileas the Frog

... just to get a few more countries coloured in on his world map whilst he decides what his next mission is.

Phileas completed his first mission on 16th April 2009
1st mission - Phileas would love to travel around the world in 80 days (or 80 weeks!) (may now try for 80mths) - stopping off for a photo at well known landmarks. He knows that this is a hard task for a frog's legs, but he would like to give it a go and thinks that with your help he could make it.

April 2005 Phileas sets off from Somerset, UK on his round the world trip.
Sept 2005 Phileas has been sight-seeing in London whilst staying with Hedwig. Unfortunately he hasn't made it around the world in 80days and is now a quarter of the way into his '80 week mission' - maybe he can still make it.
6th Jan 2006 Phileas has had a good start to 2006 - as thanks to Imke & John he has made his first big leap across the sea and is now in Holland.
27th April 2006 It is now 52 weeks since Phileas began his journey and has travelled 1391 miles and gained 29 images in his gallery (thank you to all). He has been visiting a lot of caches in Holland.
August 2006 Thanks to Ducje, Phileas has made a massive leap to Japan and has now done 7305 miles. However, he would love to have some more photos in his gallery - of well known landmarks.
8th November 2006 80wks since Phileas set off on his world trip. He is now over half away around and has reached Australia. And now, thanks to 'Werdave', he has had a trip to Tasmania and is now on his way to the USA.
December 2006 Phileas has spent about 6wks travelling with 'Werdave' and has covered alot of miles during that time (10,786) - Australia, Tasmania, California and New York. Thankyou so much.
April 2007 It is nearly 2 years since Phileas started his travels and he is having so much fun, he has decided he isn't ready to come home yet. He has now decided to set a new target of 80mths (so has over 4.5 years of travelling left to do - but not sure his battery/light will last that long). Therefore, he would like to see a bit more of the USA and then head up to Canada.
Jan 2008 He has now covered over 30,000 miles and is currently in northern Georgia.
27th April 2008 It is 3yrs today since Phileas started his travels. He moved to a new cache and a new state today .. 15 different states so far. However, he is missing the photo opportunities (none for 6mths now) .. don't forget he would like to visit local landmarks. Many thanks to all cachers that are helping to move him on.
16th April 2009 Phileas has made it around the world ... 35,244 miles in just under 4 years. Thank you to 'FriendsOfFairies' who helped in his final hop from Ohio to Sweden.

2nd mission - To get to UK's Second Mega event (GC1GFT9)

17th June 2009 Another new country for Phileas today .. now in Portugal. Is he going to complete his 2nd mission? (to get to the UK's 2nd Mega event) - only 7wks to go!
June to September 2009 Phileas has spent the summer in the Azores.

Unfortunately, he didn't make his second mission (to get to the UK's 2nd Mega event), but did make an appearance in the 'Weston-super-Mega' souvenir brochure.

3rd mission -  To get a few more countries coloured in on his world map.

October 2009 Another new country marked on Phileas' world map - with the help of Sandlopperne he has migrated for the winter from the Azores to Denmark.
Christmas 2009 Another new country and third in Scandinavia - Norway this time. Thanks to Norwoods.
June 2010 Unfortunately Phileas has been reported as missing.  I hope that he turns up somewhere safe soon.
November 2011 Exciting news.  After being missing for 18mths, Phileas has been found.  Thanks to HenryAndGaia for rescuing him and getting him moving again.
August 2012 After travelling around Norway for 2.5 years, Phileas revists Sweden and the Netherlands with terp1234.
June 2013 First new country since Dec 2009 - this time Belgium.  Thanks to Cache-Hopper

Aug 2013 Two new countries this month.  Czech Republic with * Sterreke* and Germany with Eric van Graveheart
