…eine außergewöhnliche und wirklich schöne Coin mit einem besonderen Kern – Sand aus Namibia!! Dieses wunderschöne und ebenso geheimnisvolle Land gehört mit zu meinen Taumzielen; ob es sich zum 25. Hochzeitstag 2023 verwirklichen lässt….wer weiß! Aber diese Coin aus der Ideenschmiede von Luc De Haes aka spockske aus Belgien musste unbedingt in die Sammlung!
Das hier sagt Luc selber über seine neueste Kreation:
Im Oktober 2021 verbrachte ich zusammen mit Katrijn (alias JazzyMouse) fast einen Monat in Namibia, um dieses einzigartige und schöne Land zu entdecken und einige wunderbare Caches zu machen. Nach vielen Konzepten und Designs wurde das endgültige Design für einen Namibia Souvenir Geocoin fertiggestellt. Während meiner Reise in Namibia sammelte ich Kalahari-Sand für die Geocoins, wie auf dem Bild zu sehen ist.
Dies ist eines meiner aufregendsten Geocoin-Projekte aller Zeiten!
Die Vorderseite zeigt Springböcke, denen man in Namibia täglich begegnet. Sie springen vor einem typischen Baum (ich wage es nicht, ihn eine „Akazie“ zu nennen, um zu verhindern, dass Faunaspezialisten beleidigt werden, die zulassen, dass nur australische Arten des Baums als solche bezeichnet werden) auf einem farbenfrohen Hintergrund aus Gelb, Orange und Rot, die im Sand und Himmel Namibias zu sehen sind.
Die Rückseite stellt die schöne Flagge Namibias dar, mit dem meistgesehenen großen Tier, das nicht zu den Big 5 gehört (als Miniatur auf der Vorderseite abgebildet), dem Oryx. Unten ist die außergewöhnliche und einzigartige Pflanze Namibias, die Welwitschia Mirabilis, eine einzigartige Wüstenpflanze.
Es gibt einen Ausschnitt, der Kalahari-Wüstensand enthält, den ich letztes Jahr während meiner Reise aus Namibia gesammelt habe!
Ergänzung: auf dem Foto war der Sand in einer Glasflasche, diese musste Luc vor dem Flug gegen eine Kunststoffflasche austauschen.
Bereits am ersten Tag nach der Vorbestellung war gut die Hälfte der jeweils 25 Coins in antique copper, antique silver and matte gold verkauft! Eine absolut großartige Idee und Umsetzung und eine wunderschöne Coin!
...an extraordinary and really beautiful coin with a special core - sand from Namibia!! This beautiful and equally mysterious country is one of my dream destinations; whether it can be realized on the 25th wedding anniversary in 2023... who knows! But this coin made by Luc De Haes aka spockske from Belgium absolutely had to be in the collection!

In October 2021 I spent almost a month in Namibia together with Katrijn (aka JazzyMouse) to discover this most unique and beautiful country and do some wonderful caches. After many concepts and designs the final design for a Namibia Souvenir Geocoin was completed. During my travel in Namibia I collected Kalahari sand to be part of the geocoins as you can see in this picture.
This is one of my most exciting geocoin projects ever!
The front side shows Springboks which you meet every day in Namibia. They are jumping in front of a typical tree (I don’t dare to call it an “Acacia” to prevent offending fauna specialist who allow only Australian species of the tree to be called as such) on a background of colors which are a diverse range from yellow, orange and red seen in the sand and skies of Namibia.
The backside represents the beautiful flag of Namibia with on top the most seen big animal not belonging to the big 5 (pictured in miniature on the front side border), the Oryx. At the bottom is the exceptional and unique plant to Namibia, the Welwitschia Mirabilis, a unique desert plant.
There is a cut out that contains Kalahari desert sand that I collected from Namibia during my trip last year!
Addition: on the photo you see the sand within a bottle of glass, Luc needed to exchange that for a plastic bottle before flight.
Already on the first day after the pre-order, a good half of the 25 coins in antique copper, antique silver and matte gold were sold! An absolutely great idea and implementation and an absolutely beautiful coin!
