Geocoin 20th Anniversary Trackable Set (Icon)...

Ein Geschenk….von der besten Freundin! Natürlich hatte ich diese auch schon selber bestellt – ist ja für mein Umfeld auch schwierig, etwas zu verschenken, was ich noch nicht habe ;-). Aber selbstverständlich behalte und aktiviere ich das Geschenk!! Danke dafür, meine liebe Manu0105!!

A present…from my very best girlfriend! Surely I have ordered this cool item myself – it’s pretty difficult for anybody around me finding a gift for me that is not already in my collection ;-). But for sure I’m keeping and activating the present! Thanks for that, my dear Manu0105!!

Wir feiern „20 Jahre Geocoins“!

Bereits 2001 wurde der erste Geocoin in einem Geocache über dem Puget Sound in der Nähe des Deception Pass im US-Bundesstaat Washington platziert.

Es war ein Ausflug der Geocaching-Pioniere Moun10Bike und Jeremy, um den 100. Fund von Moun10Bike zu feiern. Nachdem sie eine fragwürdig stabile und zweifellos hohe Leiter erklommen hatten, um den Cache zu finden, platzierten sie jeweils einen Trackable. Jeremy platzierte einen nicht aktivierten Travel Bug, damit jemand ihn finden konnte, und Moun10Bike platzierte eine neue Art von Trackable im Cache: die allererste Geocoin, die in Umlauf ging (Moun10Bike Nummer 002).

Dieser mittlerweile archivierte Geocache, Light House Point, war eine herausfordernde Art, diesen besonderen Meilenstein zu feiern, und an diesem Tag hat Moun10Bike das Geocaching-Spiel für immer verändert.

Seitdem sind Geocoins zu einem der kreativsten und inspirierendsten Teile dieses großartigen Spiels geworden, und wir freuen uns, 20 Jahre trackbaren Spaß und tolle Designs zu feiern!

Dieses Erinnerungsset an Trackables wurde von unserer Roxxy entworfen und ist nur für begrenzte Zeit erhältlich!

We are celebrating 20 Years of Geocoins! 

Way back in 2001, the first-ever geocoin was placed in a geocache sitting above Puget Sound, near Deception Pass in Washington State. 

It was an outing by geocaching pioneers Moun10Bike and Jeremy to celebrate Moun10Bike's 100th find.  After climbing a questionably sturdy, and unquestionably high ladder to get the find, they each placed a trackable.  Jeremy placed an unactivated Travel Bug for someone to find, and Moun10Bike placed a new kind of trackable in the cache:  the first-ever geocoin to go into circulation (Moun10Bike number 002). 

This now archived geocache, Light House Point, was a challenging way to celebrate this special milestone, and on that day Moun10Bike changed the game of geocaching forever. 

Since then, geocoins have become one of the most creative and inspirational parts of this great game, and we are happy to celebrate 20 years of trackable fun and amazing designs!
