Apologies for hanging on to this trackable for so long - I was attempting to find a Sidetracked cache large enough to accept TB etc. SideTracked - Denton is at a rather small station on the east side of Manchester, I’m sure a train will be along shortly to take this TB on further adventures.
For SideTracked enthusiasts, Denton Station is rather unique. For example:
* There are two train arrivals/departures per week. In the December 2023 timetable, the first service departs Denton southbound at 08:42 and returns to depart northbound at 09:16 on Saturdays only. This was the first time in over twenty years that the station has had a service in both directions, previously there was only one train!
* In 2023 Denton was the joint least used station in Great Britain that is open all year with only 34 passenger arrivals or departures recorded in the year.
* Denton is theoretically a request stop requiring a departing passenger to signal to the driver to stop although in practice the trains tend to stop anyway.
* Denton station has absolutely no facilities.
