All over the world, geocaching is a wonderful adventure enjoyed by many people and benefitting even more.
The rules are quite simple and easy to understand. Geocaching results in fun and enjoyment for many thousands of individuals all over the world, both young and old.
Even though there is much diversity and many differences among those who share this great hobby, there are many shared values common to every geocacher.
One of the most important and significant shared values is freedom:
Freedom to think of an interesting hiding place or the freedom to create a demanding mystery.
Freedom to write an accurate and understandable cache description.
Freedom to discover unknown locations.
Freedom to overcome individual limitations.
Freedom to enjoy geocaching all over the world.
On the other hand freedom is very fragile and can be quickly restricted.
I have designed this coin to praise freedom.
The word freedom is written in a font that is not very precise because freedom cannot be defined accurately.
On the back freedom is written in different languages. Yet all of us share freedom as a core commonality. by Harald Rotter

we gladly discover this coin.
This coin is 1 out of 20 red Freedom Geocoins (Artist Edition AE20). We donate this special coin for the benefit of Californian fire victims in Oct. 2017. In a charity auction John from the 3 caballeros won with a very generous offer. The money was spent to support the fire victims and sent them a strong signal of solidarity.
