This coin features blue borosilicate glass on antique copper. Glass on metal is an old technique known as cloisonne that has been used for thousands of years and results in very durable artifacts, which can be expected to retain their beauty for many hundreds of years.
The Pittsburgh Creative and Performing Arts (CAPA) School is dedicated to training a new generation of innovative and successful artists in Western Pennsylvania. This coin was made to honor the students who work so hard to bring new beauty and insight to the world. Some schools have mascots that celebrate winning on the football field, CAPA's unicorn represent the creative force that wins in people's hearts and souls.
The names of the editions come from the streets next to the school.
