"Apresento um novo trabalho de Geocoin acerca da cidade da Guarda, com relação ao Rei que lhe deu foral em 1199, Sancho I, segundo Rei de Portugal. Essa relação, estátua do qual se encontra junto à Sé da Guarda, também se liga à primeira moeda de ouro cunhada já sob o reinado deste Rei, o Morabitino ou Maravedi. Dom Sancho, é representado a cavalo, impondo uma espada alçada na mão e um ceptro com a Cruz de Cristo.

A cidade da Guarda é conhecida como a cidade dos 5 F's.
Forte, Farta, Fria, Fiel e Formosa

Forte: a torre do castelo, as muralhas e a posição geográfica demonstram a sua força;
Farta: devido à riqueza do vale do Mondego;
Fria: a proximidade à Serra da Estrela;
Fiel: porque Álvaro Gil Cabral – que foi Alcaide-Mor do Castelo da Guarda e trisavô de Pedro Álvares Cabral – recusou entregar as chaves da cidade ao Rei de Castela durante a crise de 1383-85. Teve ainda Fôlego para combater na batalha de Aljubarrota e Tomar assento nas Cortes de 1385 onde elegeu o Mestre de Avis (D. João I) como Rei;
Formosa: pela sua natural beleza."

"I present a new work by Geocoin on the city of Guarda, in relation to the King who gave him a charter in 1199, Sancho I, second King of Portugal. This relation, a statue of which is next to the See of Guarda, the first gold coin minted under the reign of this King, the Morabitino or Maravedi. Don Sancho is represented on horseback, imposing a sword in his hand and a scepter with the Cross of Christ.

Strong, Healthy, Cold, Faithful and Beautiful

Fort: the castle tower, the walls and the geographical position demonstrate its strength;
Farta: due to the richness of the Mondego valley;
Cold: proximity to Serra da Estrela;
Faithful: because Álvaro Gil Cabral - who was Alcaide-Mor of Guarda Castle and great-grandfather of Pedro Álvares Cabral - refused to hand over the keys of the city to the King of Castile during the crisis of 1383-85. He still had Breath to fight in the battle of Aljubarrota and to take seat in the Cortes of 1385 where it chose the Master of Avis (D. João I) like King;
