This edition was made exclusively for the Geocoinstore.com and only 50 were minted. It features Transparent Red and Red Glitter on Antique Copper. The back features Transparent Light Green.
Gungnir was Odin's magical spear that always hits its mark and always kills. Gungnir means “Swaying one” and it was made from Yggdrasils Sacred ash wood. Odin has written his magic runes onto Gungnir.
The front is designed after a traditional wooden Viking shield. The wood grain came out perfectly, you can even see the nails.
The edge is made to look like pieces of metal placed like scales and nailed to the shield. The runes around the edge on the back are for you to decipher, as you can also deduce from the text in the middle. That text is a verse from the Hávamál, part of the Edda, a collection of Old Norse poems from the Viking age. To complete the design there is a Viking/Celtic knot as background for the text.
