About This Item

Front

The Gulveig Edition front features Purple Glitter on Satin Gold. The back features Transparent Purple and Black.
LE - 75 made.

Gulveig is a Giant sorceress who rules a black forest on the edge of the world.
She is obsessed by gold. She lusts after it, hoards it and talks of nothing but gold gold gold gold...
Many Gods have found this extremely irritating and many have tried to burn her down and attack her with sharp weapons just to shut her up. But they haven't a hope in hell against her magic powers. At one point the bickering got so nasty that it started the first War of the Gods.
Meanwhile, Gulveig (who a little bird told me could really be Freya in disguise), continues to gold talk gold about gold her gold gold obsession gold...

The front of the coin is designed after a traditional wooden Viking shield. The wood grain came out perfectly, you can even see the nails.
The edge is made to look like pieces of metal placed like scales and nailed to the shield.
The runes around the edge on the back are for you to decipher, as you can also deduce from the text in the middle. That text is a verse from the Hávamál, part of the Edda, a collection of Old Norse poems from the Viking age. To complete the design there is a Viking/Celtic knot as background for the text.

This coin was designed by Dutch cacher Ogima.
