My first Australian cache!
I've been to Aus before, but it was prior to my starting geocaching and of course I'm now lamenting the lost opportunities of finding caches in Darwin and Alice. But thankfully, I was to return to Perth and here I am finding my first one.
I'm staying with family in MacAulay Ave and as soon as I booked the flights I was checking out the nearest caches to 'home', so I could pick one up straight away. This was the one, just across the freeway that I knew I could go to first. I cache with an android phone and don't yet have a data allowance for over here so for the first time was relying on offline caching using the c:geo app. It worked, well enough for me to place my hands on it pretty much straight away. I was surprised to find a little dino in there, but as I had no swag to exchange and thought someone else might like it a little bit more than me, I said hello to it and left it there for the next cacher to find.
So this was the first of, what I hope to be, many. I really enjoyed the little stroll across the bridge and GZ. Thanks for the cache, happy caching to all!!
p.s. I've dipped Eye Eye London, who wants to visit a few cities - I aim to get him closer to Perth and over to Sydney while I'm here. I've also dipped Thomas the Tank Engine who really appreciated seeing the train tracks as we went over the bridge but was sad to not see any actual trains. I will be taking him to Greenwood Station soon and we'll tour some caches along the tracks.
