Travel Bug - JANDBB
Hitchhiker - Buffalo Bob
In the early 1800's, 40-65 million bison (buffalo) roamed the
western United States. By 1884, 325 wild free roaming buffalo
were left in the American West. William Hornaday with the
Smithsonian, Fred Dupris, and James Scotty Philips were some
of the early conservationist that started herds to repopulate the
herds that now roam Custer State Park and Wind Cave National
Park in South Dakota. The journey of this buffalo is the
celebration of the return of the herds.
