Every year a small competition is done in Portugal to find the Official Portugal Geocoin design. This is the winner design in 2012.

The Portugal 2012 Geocoin represents the republic in Portugal, which was established in October 5th, 1910 and was represented by a lady with the portuguese flag. We just picked this representation of our republic and made it modern (a modern lady represents the modern Portuguese society now).
