Para além de outras geocoins encantadoras, todos os anos, desde 2006, a comunidade portuguesa de geocaching projecta uma geocoin portuguesa anual, reflectindo algumas tradições históricas e culturais do nosso país com quase 900 anos.
O design é votado pela maioria dos nossos dois usuários de geocaching on-line, depois de um concurso, onde todos podem sugerir ideias.

Kelux é um designer gráfico profissional, que ganhou dois desses concursos anuais (2008 e 2011) e projetou algumas outras geocoins já produzidas.

A geocoin portuguesa de 2011, usa inspiração na rosácea da Igreja da Graça em Santarém. Construída entre os séculos XIV e XV em estilo gótico, tem um magnífico portal principal e rosácea, única no mundo, esculpida numa única pedra.

As cores aplicadas no geocoin são uma opção criativa, mas o designer manteve a área central do geocoin como uma janela de vidro transparente.

Apart from other lovely geocoins, every year since 2006, the portuguese geocaching community, designs an annual portuguese geocoin, reflecting some historical and cultural traditions of our almost 900 years old country.
The design is voted by the majority of our two geocaching online foruns users, after a contest, where everybody can suggest ideas.

Kelux is a professional graphic designer, that won two of those annual contests (2008 and 2011) and designed some other geocoins already produced.

The 2011 portuguese geocoin, uses inspiration on the rose window of Igreja da Graça (church of the Grace) in Santarém. Built between the 14th and 15th centuries in gothic style, has a magnificent main portal and rose window, unique in the world, carved out of a single stone.

The colours applied on the geocoin are a creative option, but the designer kept the central area of the geocoin like a see-trough glass window.
