Die Zecke (Ixodida) ist eine der größten Feinde der Geocacher. Aus diesem Grund stellt sie nach der schwarzen Witwe das Motiv für den zweiten Geocoin in der Serie "Dangerous Animals" (gefährliche Tiere).
Sie gehört zu der Ordnung der Milben bzw. zu der Überordnung Parasitiformes. Weltweit gibt es ca. 900 verschiedene Zeckenarten.
The tick (Ixodida) is one of the biggest enemies of the Geocacher. For this reason the second Geocoin of the series Dangerous Animals shows this parasite, which survives by consuming blood by Geocachers.
