Geocache somewhere other than Germany: I've been too long in one country. When I activated this in October, 2011, a scout was tracking it for the Boy Scout Geocaching merit badge. I assume he got the badge, and I'm hoping he still enjoys watching his coin tour the world.
I found this unactivated GeoScouting GeoCoin in WC Travel Bug Scramble in Walnut Creek, CA, so I activated it and turned it loose on the world. I was quickly contacted by rigougarte, the scout that's tracking this coin for his Geocaching Merit badge.
No, I was never a scout. Try not to hold it against me. My brother was a scout. And my sons were scouts, right up until one of the assistant scout masters told my eldest he had to believe in God...oh, excuse me, "a higher power"...or he wouldn't be considered reverent, so he could never be an Eagle Scout. Good thing he didn't really want to be an Eagle Scout, but the event gave him a good excuse to get out. The punchline is that his scout troop was sponsored by Druids, so we never dreamed we'd have that kind of problem.
