Da Schildkroeten bekanntlich nicht sehr schnell sind, koennen sie am Tag auch nicht viele Kilometer zuruecklegen. Die schnellste Schildkroete ist die Lederschildkroete mit 35km/h, die langsamste erreicht 0,21km/h.

Schildegard hat eine Geschwindigkeit von 2km/h und kann sich nur maximal 16 Stunden am Tag bewegen, d.h. sie kann am Tag nicht mehr als 32km zuruecklegen. Bitte beachtet dies beim Reisen von Cache zu Cache.


English:

Turtles are not very fast. The fastest Turtle in the world is the leatherback sea turtle with a speed of 35km/h. Other turtles reach only 0,21km/h.

Schildegard has a speed of 2km/h and is awake 16 hours per day. So, she cant go more than 32 kilometers a day. Please consider this when traveling from cache to cache.

Schildegard was able to visit with a real-life sea turtle at The Living Coast Discovery Center in San Diego, before we dropped it off in the Beach Balcony cache on the La Jolla cliffs looking west over the Pacific Ocean.
Now it can enjoy being by the ocean and enjoying the view until resuming its travels with the next geocacher. It's been a joy to travel with you, little sea turtle, bon voyage!
