Angeblich können die Tränen des Einhorns Versteinerungen lösen. Es soll Tote zurück ins Leben holen können, und wer das Blut eines Einhorns trinkt, Wird angeblich unsterblich, führt aber von diesem Punkt an ein unglückliches und verfluchtes Leben. In einigen Erzählungen heißt es auch, dass ein Einhorn ein karges und/oder verwüstetes Land wieder zum Blühen bringt, sobald es dessen Grenzen überschreiTet.
