The "front" side of our first personal geocoin shows a 3D relief of the Highwood Pass area of the Canadian Rockies. The Highwood Pass is a beautiful hiking / biking / fishing area about a 90 minute drive southwest of Calgary. This is our most favourite area for hiking and we've hidden about a dozen geocaches within the area depicted on the coin.

The "back" side of our first personal geocoin depicts many equipment, safety and survival items that we consider essential to bring on any hiking trip in the Highwood Pass area.

The benchmark is the Canadian Geodetic Survey Marker closest to the summit of Highwood Pass. Unfortunately, we had no success locating the survey marker this past summer; we'll make another attempt in 2009.
