A geocoin portuguesa de 2008 representa uma guitarra portuguesa, claramente um símbolo nacional. É com ela que se canta o Fado, e a geocoin deixa-o bem explícito. O sabor do destino e da saudade estão também presentes, com uma quadra impressa na geocoin que diz: “Ó gente da minha terra / agora é que eu percebi / Esta tristeza que trago / foi de vós que recebi“.
Não foi fácil chegar a este resultado final, uma geocoin que certamente enche todos os geocachers portugueses de orgulho. Depois de muitas discussões no fórum sobre como deveria ser a geocoin portuguesa de 2008, o geocacher mtrevas tomou a iniciativa de lançar um processo de recolha de desenhos.

The Portuguese geocoin of 2008 represents a Portuguese guitar, clearly a national symbol. It is with her that Fado is sung, and the geocoin makes it very explicit. The taste of fate and longing are also present, with a block printed in the geocoin that says: "O people of my land / now is that I realized / This sadness that I brought / was of you that I received".
It was not easy to get to this final result, a geocoin that certainly fills all the Portuguese geocachers with pride. After many discussions in the forum about what the 2008 Portuguese geocoin should look like, geocacher mtrevas took the initiative to launch a drawing collection process.
