As Many know, My grandson Steven set the Red in motion the summer he was 13, while visiting in NV. Red has been out in the world for five years this month. He has traveled over 20,000 miles, been through at least 20 states, and went to a Mexican resort town.
On Valentines day, 2012, Steven was waiting to cross a Tx country road and was hit and killed by a truck, just 4 days before his 17th birthday. Many people have been helping Red find is way to me. We've retired and are workamping at Moonshine Creek Campground in NC this summer, so when we learned there was already a cache here, it was the perfect place for Red to come home to and I thank everyone for their efforts.
Geocache messages have never gone to my spam box, but for some reason I checked my spam box and saw someone had picked up Red that morning from the campground and I didn't know he had arrived. I contacted Todd, explained Red's story and asked if he could help me get Red Back. He was going to mail Red to me, but tonight there was a knock on my door. Todd delivered Red to my hands himself. I had no idea getting Red back was going to be so emotional. Thank you, everyone!
