Erik (Geocaching.com user name "erik88L-R") was one of the first cache reviewers, starting in late 2001. Early caches hidden all over the world can be found with "Published by erik88L-R" as the first log.
As the sport grew there were more and more local reviewers recruited, with Erik reviewing caches in his home state of Georgia in the US and a large but decreasing number of countries that did not yet have their own local reviewer.
Erik retired as a reviewer several years ago.

This geocoin is approx. 50mm long, 28mm tall. One side is devoted to geocaching, the other side to Erik's off-road driving hobby, for which his old Land Rover works well. The "88L-R" in his "erik88L-R" refers to the Land Rover, as it's known as an "88" for it's short and nimble 88 inch wheelbase.
Some of these coins were originally sold commercially by the manufacturer, and they have a brass colored rim.
This geocoin is one of the rare ones Erik ordered for himself - it's rim is the color of the galvanized steel trim of a real Landy.

Heya, today I had the opportunity to admire a beautiful and rare geocoin. Of course, I knew the existence of this coin of Erik. However, I did not know the 2 versions there. Thanks to Reviewer Westpointer, I was allowed to watch the rare variant of these great old coin today. What an honor! Thank you very much and greetings, Daniel Aka Haedel 80

zo nu en dan krijg je een mooie verzameling in het oog, zo was dat ook deze dag. Ze werden zelfs langs gebracht.. wat een kopje koffie al niet kan doen. Na wat gezellig geklets de tijd genomen om deze te bewonderen. We zien graag de rest ook nog een keertje.. 😉 Tot snel!

Message from Erik88L-R after request about number made: Hi,It's been so long, and I may be wrong, but I think there were 200 of the Landy coins with the galvanized steel colored border. Not sure about the commercial ones with the brass border. Possibly 500.All the best,erik
