Teil der Coinsammlung der Kanustation Mirow / poseptun
The personal geocoin of Team Petey, a geocaching family from Superior, Wisconsin.
The Twin Ports of Duluth, Minnesota and Superior, Wisconsin, are located at the western part of Lake Superior (the westernmost of North America's Great Lakes) and together are considered the largest freshwater port in the world. They are twin cities and seaports, connected to the Atlantic Ocean through the Great Lakes and the Saint Lawrence Seaway.
This coin was designed after Duluth, Minnesota's Aerial Lift Bridge. This Bridge lifts to allow an excursion boat to pass through the canal to the inner harbor on its return from a cruise out on the big lake. The bridge is an equal opportunity worker, raising as promptly for a 25 foot pleasure sailboat as it does for a huge commercial 1000 foot Laker. One side of the coin shows the opened bridge, the other side shows the closed bridge.

Ich hatte heute die Gelegenheit auf der Plattform myGeoDB Coins aus der Sammlung von poseptun zu bewundern. Ich habe mir jeden Geocoin von Boats / Ships - Modern angesehen und bin begeistert und fasziniert. Sehr schön ist auch die ausführliche Beschreibung zu jeden Coin. Das zeichnet eine besondere Sammlung aus.
Ich bedanke mich ganz herzlich und weiterhin viel Freude mit unserem gemeinsamen Hobby.
