North America - Canada Multi-cache

This cache has been archived.

res2100: Went for a nice walk in the area today and had the chance to pick up the cache. Cache was in great shape with lots of trade items that our daughter enjoyed. The series has run it course so now time to slowly archive some of these once I pick them up.

Geocache Description:

All caches in this series are located along the Caledon Trailway. Bring your own writing instrument. At the posted coordinates you will find a stone indicating the start of the Caledon Trailway. There are 6 numeric digits on this stone. Add all 6 of these individual digits together, divide the result by 100 and add that to the following meaningless north and west coordinates in order to find the geocache.

North America
There are currently 23 countries within North America. North America, which covers the landmass north of the Panama-Colombia border, and the islands of the Caribbean. North America is the northern continent of the Americas, situated in the Earth's northern hemisphere and almost totally in the western hemisphere. It is bordered on the north by the Arctic Ocean, on the east by the North Atlantic Ocean, on the southeast by the Caribbean Sea, and on the west by the North Pacific Ocean; South America lies to the southeast.

The Caledon Trailway
The Trailway follows the path of an abandoned rail line that once linked Hamilton with Barrie. The Town of Caledon purchased 35 km of rail section in 1989 and it became the first officially designated portion of the Trans Canada Trail in 1995. The first Trans Canada Trail Pavilion in the country was built in Caledon East in 1996. This is a multi-use trail, ideal for walking, geocaching, cycling, horseback riding, and cross-country skiing in winter.
