Geocache Description:

Quite an easy cache to find

On the 09/03/1922 3 Policemen and 4 mine officals were killed on the Brakpan Mines. This was during the worst strike this country has ever known the miners were unhappy about the work force cut backs due to the falling Gold price and as one they came out on strike it was so bad that Jan Smuts declared martial law on the 10/03/1922 where the Air Force was used to bomb the striking miners, this memorial serves to rember the people who died on the Brakpan mines unfortunatley there used to be a stamp mill there as well that the mine used to crush the gold bearing rock but somebody stole it probaly for scrap ther are a few houses there that are inhabited by muggles but they do not seem intrested in what goes on around them but be careful anyway
